So the mere
mention of Patti back in the UK had myself and my partner on
the phone to the babysitter desperately trying to find a way
to get to see her, we only had 48 hrs notice so we were
thinking we might just have to miss this one but thankfully
we were able to go. The 60mile trip was very much worth it.
Patti performed five songs with a band called Solid Juice
who seemed to have a pretty big following of their own. It
was held in a barn but this seemed to be purpose built for
live shows, the acoustics were really good. The crowd were
on the slim side till people noticed Patti about to go up,
all of a sudden you could barely move in the place, I had to
move well off to the side about half way thru to give the
people that were dancing more space.
Over the years I have noted Patti to be one of those
performers who never wavers out of tune and this night was
no exception, not one single note out of place, absolutely
amazing. She seemed very relaxed and seemed to be having
alot of fun.
The songs that stood out for me the most were bible and a
beer which was just incredible live and got everyone going
from the start, Mustang Sally, she did a very unique and
refreshing version of this, putting her own stamp on a
popular song, Respect just suited her voice perfectly and
really allowed her to let loose and show us the true extent
of her talent. Having said that, all five songs were great
and she delivered them flawlessly.
All through her performance Patti absolutely commanded
attention and took the stage on as her own. I sincerely hope
she comes back to the UK soon, I am glad to see her doing
well and thriving in her quest as a solo performer and boy
she does it very very well.
A great night was had by all and certainly for me, I eagerly
await Patti’s return
Rock on Patti
