These southerners are a tardy lot though icon_biggrin.gif Still they arrived in time to exchange pleasantries, although I do wonder who stole Sue's drink?

Somehow despite Deb leaving the bar 10 minutes before I did, I was still in the seat next to her before she showed up. Did you get lost Deb? The bloke sitting on the other side of me got a scowl or two, not least for nipping out to the loo during Kasim's set (nice Haircut btw Kas!). Was good to see all of Kas's set tonight, made up for the debacle of me missing most of it on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday was good.... tonight was better! Far far better.

One extra song than last Wednesday, but about 20 minutes shorter. Less of the "waffle" between the songs and the show just seemed to flow tonight. Certainly there was no going into the audience, or ranting about the newspaper or having a go at Justin Timberlake - just as well consideriong one post show conversation icon_wink.gif

The sound was a little dodgy in the middle, but picked up again by the end of Paradise, DIST was beautfful - so glad I got to catch it live - perhaps the highlight of the show.

Do It really does rock live! As I may have mentioned I wasn't keen on it on the album, too much of a Queen wannabe song for my liking, but live it's just a different song all together.

By about 10 seconds into Life is a Lemon we were up on our feet and at the front, and not long afterwards it seemed that everyone else was too! A really good atmosphere in the MEN tonight (and the thick socks made a difference to the cold feet problem so they probably helped)

Paul and Randy were on top top top form tonight, it was great to see from even closer their guitar work, one of these days I'm going to restart my lessons and be able to do what they can do! Honest, I am, it's true!!

Tonight was the first time I've really had the chance to watch Kasim, closely. His playing is tremendous, the sounds he can get out of a bass guitar are incredible, a real diverse range of skills. Although his aim was a little off tonight as he only hit my ear with his pick! Meat evened the score up with a direct shot on my right shoulder though. Although both rebounded off into the night, and in the half light what I thought was Kas's pick turned out to be a piece of chewing gum!

Patti and CC were as gorgeous as ever. Patti really seemed to be having a ball tonight, although she did nearly lose it through laughing at Paul when he nearly forgot to duck under her mic stand when he went on one of his run abouts!

Remembered to take my camera with me tonight so there'll be some piccies on a web site near you soon! Anyone know of any all night Chemists in the Cheadle area?

Meat was in far far better voice tonight than last week I thought. Which is probably why there was less waffle during the songs. Although I did hear someone saying before the show that they'd heard that tonight was almost cancelled this afternoon as Meat claimed his throat wasn't feeling good. Probably just rumour, but you never know huh?

The intro to Frying Pan was outstanding - another candidate for highlight of the show - especially when Paul got three shots at it due to Guitar problems.

If you read what I wrote about last Wednesdays show you might remember that I talked about when Meat killed the boy and gave life to the man? Well, I thought it had happened tonight as well! At one point there's a pregnant Deb standing next to me (Repeatedly "he's gorgeous" and pointing at either Kasim or Randy... to which I had to reply "NO that's gorgeous!" and point at CC) anyway...... where was I? Oh yes, at one point there's a pregnant Deb standing next to me, and then next time I look the pregantn Deb has moved back a bit and she's got a 10 yr old girl standing in front of her! I was in awe at what a Meat show could do! Induce labour and accelerate the early stages of childhood! Whatever next? Could I get my hairline back?
Great touch at the end from John who seeing said young girl in front of Deb, made sure she got one of his drumsticks... albeit at the second attempt. I'll forgive him for getting in the way of my closeup pic of CC and Patti icon_wink.gif

Anway that's enough for now, I should be tired, but I'm not (surprise surprise) and the hound is looking at me with one of those "Are you going to take me for a ****ing walk or not looks"

AndyK
.... who never apologises for length so won't break a habit of a lifetime and do it now icon_wink.gif
