MEAT LOAF - SHEFFIELD ARENA

SAT 13TH DEC 2003

KASIM SET LIST

Sometimes Love Is A Dangerous Thing
Don't Hold Me Back
Sacrifice

We arrived at the Arena in plenty of time. It was pretty cold, so we decided to go over the road to the pub. We didn't stay long but while we were there we met Lyndsey and her hubby. It was there 1st Meat show, so hope you had a great time Lyndsey if you read this:-) We walked over to the Arena just as it started to rain, so we got under a bit of shelter. Saw a few people talking and noticed one had a MLUKFC badge on. So had to ask who it was lol. (I'm sooooooo god damn nosey) Turned out to be Mike & Maureen, so hi to both of you as well:-)

When we arrived tonight the stool was out:-) Only problem was our front row seats were as far away from Kasim as you could possibly get lol. So far that sitting down I couldn't see much at all and spent most of Kasim's set looking at the screens. That's a 1st lol.. The barrier seemed really high tonight as well. Also I didn't take any pix of Kasim's solo set tonight unfortunately. Sorry all.

Kasim came on a little later than usual tonight. He came out saying "Good evening Sheffield how you doing? No I am not the MC for the evening," Made me laugh anyway:-) He went on to introduce himself and to say that he got the opportunity to warm us up a little bit.... He also said that's it's gonna be a great show and that the last few have been really special for them. he said Meat was feeling 100% and that he was a new man (to which the crowd all cheered!) Then he told us he was gonna play a few songs for us, He started with "Sometimes Love Is A Dangerous Thing." I really love this song, It was the second time I'd heard Kasim do this live and it really grows on you quick. I was told after that it was actually co wrote by Kasim for Welcome to the neighbourhood. Shame it wasn't used, it's really cool.

After Sometimes love, Kasim went on to plug his album Quid Pro Quo, for those of you that don't already know it's available at the merchandise stall or at www.spheresound.com In the words of Kasim: "Give the gift of Kasim music" I couldn't have said it better myself.

Next Kasim sang Don't hold me back, a track from Quid Pro Quo. it was as excellent as always! This was followed by Sacrifice, another great song from Kasim's solo album.

All to soon Kasim's set was over, he thanked Sheffield, Then he said "Stick around we've only just started, Meat'll be out in a few sec's. Have a great holiday. Then he left the stage to a huge round of applause.

Seeing as I have no pix or videos for tonight's show, thought I'd treat you all to something else lol. I know there's nothing worse than going to a show, seeing the support band and not knowing the songs and as you all haven't got around to buying Quid Pro Quo yet, even though you all will after seeing him right? I thought I'd help you out and put the lyrics here:-) Just click on the links.
