McCoist & Macaulay is a UK chat show. The series is set at different locations around the country. This show being set at "The Tally Ho club" in Birmingham.
As per usual we couldn't have a trouble free journey, everything was ok until we got off the motorway, then the usual jinx's happened. The car burst a hose!!! AGGGGHHHH... Oh well this would have to wait till after the show to get fixed as time was running out.
Myself & Kat were at this recording & arrived in time to see Meat having his first ever game of "bowls" and for a first attempt he done a pretty good job of it too.....
A member of the club had mentioned to Meat about the bowls & Meat took an interest in it, which ended up with Meat playing against a good player, At one point the score was 20/4 but at the end it was 20/17. Not bad for a first attempt against a good player!!!! I'm sure Meat would of done better but the light was going & the show was due to start recording. We watched with the managers wife (who's husband was the one playing Meat) she couldn't believe it ..... )
There was hardly anyone here at this point & those that were didn't even notice that it was Meat playing lol.
While we were waiting around we didn't have a clue what the other guests looked like. We realised afterwards that Dion Dublin said hello to us before the show. (that'll teach us for not taking more of an interest in sport wont it lol)
Anyway on with the show......
This was a really strange place for Meat to be at. It was a tiny little police sports club in the heart of Brum. The audience was made up of an much older audience. The tickets were given out mainly by the police club so there were a lot of policemen & there families there. Originally "Cadburys world of chocolate" social club was looked at. I don't know if I could of stood the temptation of the smell of choccy at this one though.
The whole show was set around this club, the guests of the show were sat in the audience. much to the rest of the audiences surprise...
McCoist & Macaulay started the show by walking from the back of the club....
They then show a crowd shot. If you look carefully you can see meat in this one & if you look very very carefully (magnifying job lol) you can see me & Kat on the very left side of the bar at the back ......
They then sat down on the stage & introduced the guests....
The star of "goodness gracious me" Meera Sial.
Aston Villa's Dion Dublin.
The one & only Meat Loaf.....
and Ocean Colour Scene & Birmingham band....
McCoist & McCauley go on to tell facts & figures of Birmingham. These are made up of little jokes about the city. One story being that Birmingham had the first topless bar, which for some reason was left out? This was a really funny part of the recording though, when they said this Meat clapped really loud lol.. The whole audience thought this was really funny.
Meera Sial was the first guest during this she makes a joke about Ali McCoist & drinking, to which the cameras switch to Meat.......
After Dion Dublin came Meat........
McCoist & McCauley said "Our final guest tonight we've been trying to get for ages, we said to get him on the show we would do anything, but we wouldn't do that, but in the end we had to....."
Meat came on & McCauley asked him if he had read any good books lately....
Meat said no & asked if it was good.
Meat then said he wanted to call it the unauthorised autobiography so he could sue himself & it would be one he could win......
"Could you see me in court? I'd be schizophrenic" "I didn't not give you permission"
"You told me I could write that book"
"I did not"
"You told me".......
Meat then goes on to talk about why he wrote the book & Bat out of hell....
Meat then says how he thinks of himself as a plumber......
Then says how he thinks of meat Loaf as an actor...
Meat then tells the story of Pearls date with Jim Silk....
After he asks Ali if he wants to go out with his daughter, to which Ali replied "not again, no."
The rest of the guests found this really funny....
McCoist & Macaulay then say thanx to the guests
The show was actually recorded with Meats bit first, although they showed him third. Meat was really tired as he had gone straight to Birmingham off the plane. After Meats bit Me & Kat left the recording to sort the car out. Another job for the AA.....
While we were waiting Ali McCoist had this pic taken with Kat........
